Herb VanIngen was a goaltender for Yale University from 1945-48, captaining the team his senior year. He was the backup goalie for the US Olympic team in 1948. VanIngen also played soccer (football) and lacrosse at Yale, making All-American in both sports. He served in the US Marines Corps during World War II. His business career was in advertising, working for The New York Times and Curtis Publishing.
