Biography

Defenseman Martin Wild came in seventh with the West German ice hockey team at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics as the winner of the consolation round. In 1980, he also participated at Lake Placid, but then the team was eliminated in the group stage. In total, Wild earned 49 international caps, scoring five international goals. Domestically, he played with SC Riessersee, and later Kölner Haie (West German champion in 1979), ERC Freiburg, Duisburger SC and Hamburger SV. Wild later became a hockey coach.
