Biography

After graduating from his local high school, Ginzo Yamada joined the Aomori Forestry Bureau. At the All Japan Ski Championships he claimed the individual title in the 18 km cross country in 1934, and the relay title with the Aomori team, together with his fellow worker Shinzo Yamada, in 1935. He was then selected to represent Japan at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After retiring from active competition, he dedicated himself to the training of younger generations in Aomori.
