The Pierre de Coubertin Commission was created in 1975 and worked to promulgate the teachings of Pierre, Baron de Coubertin and his philosophy. It worked very closely with the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee in this regard but it is no longer recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Its functions were transferred to the Culture and Education Commission, and then the Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission.
