Nordic combined at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics was held in two venues, the Giuseppe Dal Ben Ski Jumping Arena for the first portion, and the cross-country and biathlon center Fabio Canal for the latter.
There had been three Nordic combined events at the Winter Olympics since Salt Lake City in 2002, with a normal hill, large hill, and team event since 2010. The sport was, however, among the least well-attended among the Winter Games and there were calls for its removal from the program. As a response, the IOC modified the team event to reduce it from four to two competitors and renamed it the team sprint. Additionally, while the IOC touted the Games as the most gender-inclusive yet, Nordic combined remained the only sport exclusive to men, as a women’s tournament was rejected, citing the lack of national diversity among the world’s top competitors.
Norway had won two of the gold medals in Beijing 2022, but in Milano-Cortina they captured all three, courtesy of Jens Lurås Oftebro. Austria’s Johannes Lamparter won three medals as well, being runner-up in the normal and large hill events, and third in the team sprint. Finnish athletes took the remaining podium spots, finishing with bronze in the normal and large hill competitions and silver in the team sprint. Thus, only three nations won medals in Nordic combined at MiCo26, the first time that had occurred since Lillehammer 1994.
