Polo at the 1924 Summer Olympics

Dates 28 June – 12 July 1924
Medal Events 1

Polo was on the Olympic Program in 1900, 1908, 1920, 1924, and 1936, but it would be removed from the Olympic Program after the Berlin Olympics. The 1924 matches were held at two venues around Paris, Saint-Cloud Country Club in Saint-Cloud and the Polo de Bagatelle in the Bois de Boulogne, which was where the 1900 polo matches were contested.

The 1924 polo tournament was notable for the first matches between the two dominant nations in the sport, Argentina and the United States, with Argentina winning the gold medal and the United States taking silver. The tournament was a round-robin with five nations competing, with Argentina defeating the USA, 6-5, in a closely fought match that decided the top two places.
