Held for the second time at the Olympic Winter Games, the United States was the defending gold medalist from Beijing 2022. The USA also won the World Championships in the event in 2023 and 2025, and Chris Lillis was back, having won gold medals each time with the USA team. Also considered for the podium were China, silver medalists in 2022; Ukraine, which medalled at the last two World Championships; and Switzerland, who won medals at the 2021 and 2025 Worlds.

Seven teams started the competition with the top four teams advancing to the final round. The United States led the opening round, more than 36 points ahead of China, with Australia well back in third. Switzerland filled out the final round.

The United States dominated the final round to defend their gold medal, while Switzerland surprised to move ahead of China into the silver medal position, as Australia finished fourth. Lillis won his second consecutive gold medal and his fourth consecutive global championship in the event.
