The British team, representing Upton Park Football Club, were easily the best of the three teams which competed in 1900 in Paris. They defeated the French team quite handily, 4-0, and did not play again. In that match they played a 2-3-5 formation and were led by J. Nicholas, who scored two goals in the first half and then retired with a sprained ankle. An Upton Park FC was founded in 1866 and was one of the 15 teams to play in the first FA Cup in 1871-72. The original club folded in 1887, but in 1891 a local club, Belmont FC, adopted the Upton Park name.

The French team titularly represented the Union des Sociétés Françaises de Sports Athlétiques (USFSA), but that was really just an administrative group governing several sports, and the team members appear to have come from various clubs. France defeated Belgium easily, by 6-2. The Belgium team is listed in many sources as representing the University of Brussels, but the University Archivist denies this and, in fact, the Belgian footballers also represented many different clubs, as well as the Universities of Liège, Louvain, and Brussels. Matches between the French squad and German and Swiss teams did not take place as those nations did not send squads to Paris.
