Biography

Jeremy Roenick played center in the NHL for the 20 years, starting out with the Chicago Blackhawks, and then playing for the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks, and Los Angeles Kings. During the 1994-95 NHL lock-out he played for the Kölner Haies in Germany. Roenick did not play college hockey but after starring at Thayer Academy in Milton, Massachusetts, went to play for the Hull Olympiques of the Québec Major Junior Hockey League. He was drafted in the first round of the 1988 NHL draft, eighth overall. During his career he played in nine NHL All-Star Games but was unfortunate in never being able to play for a Stanley Cup Champion. In 2007, Roenick became only the third American to score 500 NHL goals, after Joe Mullen and Mike Modano. Roenick played for the United States at the 1988 and 1989 World Junior Championships, the 1991 Canada Cup, and the 1998 and 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
