Biography

Lajos Kiss was a silver medalist at the 1958 World Championships in Praha in the 4x500 metre relay. He also added a bronze medal in the K1-1000 at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Kiss struggled with chronic illnesses in the later years of his life, undergoing amputation of portions of his feet, which left him wheelchair bound, before succumbing to complications of diabetes.
