Carl August Kronlund played lead right-handed for the second Swedish curling team at the first Winter Olympics. At 58 years of age, he was not only the oldest medal winner at Winter Olympics but also the oldest competitor. He opened the game against France, which was won by Sweden 18-10. Kronlund lived with his wife Elin in Stockholm.
