Biography

Margaret Morton had only a brief career at international level. She made her debut for Scotland in the 1999 European Championships and in 2000 was a member of Rhona Martin’s Scottish Championship winning team that placed fourth in the World Championships. Nominated as vice-captain and scheduled to throw third in the 2002 Olympic team she was replaced shortly before the Games began and played only briefly as an alternate as the British team won the gold medal.

Morton, who worked for a debt recovery company, was raised in the small town of Mauchline which is the world centre for curling stone production.
