Biography

Natalie Darwitz has been the US hockey team captain since 2007. She has played in two Winter Olympics and eight World Championships for the US, helping them World Titles in 2005, 2008, and 2009, and has played in six Three/Four Nations Cups. She played in high school at Eagan High School in Minnesota, and then collegiately at the University of Minnesota, where she was a three-time All-American and a three-time finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award as the nation’s top female hockey player. Darwitz graduated from U of M in 2007 with a degree in sports management. She is also an assistant coach at the University of Minnesota, and has played professionally with the Minnesota Whitecaps of the Western Women’s Hockey League, winning that league’s MVP in 2006-07.
