Biography

Nduka Odizor was a Nigerian professional tennis player who achieved a career-best singles ranking of #52 in the world in June 1984, and a doubles ranking of #20 in the world in August 1984. Odizor played on Nigeria’s Davis Cup team from 1986 to 1993.

Odizor won his one and only ATP singles title at the 1983 Taipei Grand Prix with victory against Scott Davis. He also won seven ATP doubles titles from 1983 to 1990, with most of his victories coming with his American partner David Dowlen. In 1983 Odizor had his best performances in Grand Slams, reaching the singles fourth round at Wimbledon, and the quarter-finals of the doubles at the US Open. He competed in the singles and doubles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics but did not advance past the first round in either event.
