Biography

Carl-Åke Ljung was a Swedish sprint canoer who competed during the 1950s. Ljung won gold in the K1 4×500 metres at the 1954 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Mâcon with Lars Glassér, Gert Fredriksson, and the non-Olympian Bert Nilsson. Two years later Ljung and Ragnar Heurlin competed in the K-2 1000 metres at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics where they finished in fourth place in their heat and were eliminated.
