During the late 1970s and early 1980s sprint canoeist Radomír Blažík represented Czechoslovakia at multiple international competitions. Blažík competed in the C1 500 metres event at the World Championships in 1978 and 1979, finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. These results earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1980 Games in Moskva, where he advanced to the final via the repêchage round to place eighth overall. Blažík then recorded multiple top-10 finishes at the World Championships over the next few years, competing in both the C1 500 metres and C2 1,000 metres.
