Biography

Stewart Carr paddled Canadian doubles at the 1992 Olympics alongside Jim Terrell. Carr’s greatest meet came at the 1990 US Championships, when he won five gold medals, in C-1 500, C-1 1,000, C-2 500, C-2 1,000, and C-4 500. He started paddling in 1983 in war canoes. While training for the Barcelona Olympics he worked as a wellness director at a community hospital in Indianapolis. Carr attended Palm Beach Atlantic College. He later became a coach at the Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club on Lake Lanier, Georgia.
