Biography

Following the end of World War I, Swedish cyclist Erik Bjurberg became a multiple-time national champion and won bronze at the Olympics. Bjurberg won his first national title in 1918 with victory in the individual time trial team classification with compatriots Ragnar Malm and Sigfrid Lundberg. The trio had more success together, winning the individual time trial team classification again in 1919 and 1920. Bjurberg then teamed up with his brothers Hjalmar and Arthur, with the siblings winning the national team time trial titles in 1922, 1923, and 1925. In 1924, Erik competed in the road race at the Pairs Olympics. Whilst he did not finish in the individual race, he won bronze in the combined team competition.
