Biography

One of the most successful equestrian dressage riders in history, Isabell Werth won 10 Olympic medals. With the dominant German team, she won five team gold medals (1992-2000, 2008, 2016), as well as the 1996 individual title. The remaining medals were won in the individual dressage (1992, 2000, 2008,2016). Isabell Werth is also a seven-time world champion (4x team, 1x individual, 2x GP Special) and a nine-time European Champion (4x team, 2x individual, 3x GP Special). She won most of her medals with her horse Gigolo, which she rode between 1992 and 2000, while her 2008 Olympic medals were won with Satchmo and her 2016 ones with Weihegold Old.
