Biography

Before becoming a noted sports administrator Andrzej Kraśnicki played handball during the 1960s, representing both the junior and youth national teams of Poland. Kraśnicki remained connected to the sport throughout his life, becoming the President of the Polish Handball Association in 2006. Under his presidency the national team won multiple medals at the World Handball Championships, including silver in 2007 and bronze in 2009 and 2015. In 2010 Kraśnicki was elected as the President of the National Olympic Committee of Poland, serving in the role until 2023. He was also a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of European Olympic Committees and a member of the Foundation Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
