Robert Malouf served in the Canadian Grenadier Guards, where he was part of their boxing club. At the age of 20 Malouf was selected to compete in the middleweight class at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. After receiving a bye, he then faced Leen Jansen (NED), but lost the bout after the referee stopped the contest. After the Games he had a very brief career as a professional boxer before retiring from the ring.
