Biography

Leonard Lafond rode dressage for the Canadian team at the 1956 Stockholm Equestrian Olympics. A native of Montréal, he served as an infantry captain in the Canadian Army in World War II and then became a physical education instructor. Lafond moved to Santa Barbara, California in 1954 where he began training horses. Lafond helped coach the 1960 USA Olympic dressage team. He became a riding trainer and coach, mostly with Rancho San Fernando Rey in California.
