Biography

During the 1960s Ørnulf Andresen was one of the best cyclists in Norway, winning nine national titles. All of Andresen’s victories came in either the team classification or team time trial events, sharing all of his success with his younger brother Thorleif. Ørnulf rode in three editions of the Peace Race and competed at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, finishing 56th in the road race and fifth in the team time trial.

After his retirement Andresen worked for the Norwegian Cycling Federation, becoming their sports director and general secretary. From the 1990s onwards he worked in the education sector, including as a director of the Gjøvik University College and as a case manager at the Norwegian College of Community and Social Studies. From 2001 to 2005 Andresen was also the secretary general of the Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association.
