Biography

Hendrik Brocks was an Indonesian cyclist who competed in two events at the 1960 Roma Olympics. Brocks was part of the Indonesian contingent that rode in the team time trial, placing 26th out of the 30 teams to finish. He also competed in the individual road race but did not finish. Two years later Brocks achieved the high-point of his career when he won three gold medals at the 1962 Asian Games. His medal haul included an individual title in the road race and two team golds.

After his cycling career Brocks became a trainer where he coached younger athletes. He worked with the Indonesian Bicycle Sports Association, first as an administrator, before becoming a member of the executive board. In 2020 the Indonesian National Sports Committee bestowed Brocks with a lifetime achievement award.
