Biography

Nayel Nassar was an Egyptian show jumper who competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Nassar qualified for the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) show jumping World Cup Finals in 2013, 2014, and 2017, and the FEI World Equestrian Games in 2014. He has been a frequent competitor on the show jumping Grand Prix circuit. In 2019 he won the Longines Grand Prix of New York, and the Longines Speed Challenge, becoming the first rider to win both events in the same year.

Nassar graduated from Stanford University in 2013 with an economics degree. He was born in Chicago but grew up in Kuwait before returning to the USA in 2009. In 2015 he established his own stables, the Nthemsar Stables in Encinitas, California. In October 2021, in Westchester County, New York, Nassar married Jennifer Gates, the daughter of Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, and Melinda French Gates.
