Biography

In 1958 Swiss cyclist Erwin Jaisli won the national team time trial title and became the national amateur road race champion. The following year Jaisli finished in ninth place at the UCI Road World Championships. At the 1960 Roma Olympics he finished in 12th place in the road race, finishing 20 seconds behind the winner in a large group of riders. Jaisli also finished in ninth place in the 100 kilometres team time trial. Four years later he rode in the same two races at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The Swiss team finished in 16th place in the time trial with Jaisli finishing in 30th place in the road race, finishing in a large group of riders that were 12 second behind the race winner. During his career Jaisli won stages of the Tour of Austria and the Tour de l’Avenir in France.
