Biography

During his career cyclist Yanjingiin Baatar represented the Mongolian Army Sports Club, becoming a national road race champion in both 1967 and 1968. In 1964 Baatar was selected to compete at the Tokyo Olympics, placing 43rd in the road race and 23rd in the team time trial. The following year he won the overall classification of the Tour of Mongolia, in addition to riding in the Peace Race in Europe. Following his cycling career Baatar became a coach, first working with the women’s cycling team. In 1980 he was the national coach of the Mongolian Olympic team at the Moskva Games.
