Jhon Jarrin was a track cyclist who raced the individual and team pursuit at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. During his career he won titles at the South American Championships, Bolivarian Games, and Pan American Championships. At the 1985 Bolivarian Games, Jarrin lit the torch at the Opening Ceremony along with footballer Arturo Cárdenas. As he got older Jarrin continued competing in masters competition.
