Biography

Agustín Juárez was a Mexican cyclist who competed in road races in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Juárez had a good start to his career, winning stage eight and the overall mountains classification at the 1968 Vuelta a Cuba. His performance earned him a place on the Olympic team where he was strongly tipped to win a medal for his country. At the Mexico City Games, however, he finished 27th in the road race, around five minutes behind the winner. Juárez had further success at the Vuelta a Cuba where he won another stage at the 1969 edition of the race before going on to win a stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a Costa Rica in 1970.
