Biography

Polish cyclist Mieczysław Kapiak began his career in the late 1920s representing clubs in Warszawa. Prior to the war Kapiak rode in several editions of the Tour of Poland and finished fifth at the 1936 Polish championships. This performance earned him a place on the Olympic team for the Berlin Games where he finished the course, but his time was not recorded. After the Olympics he finished second in the road race at the 1938 Polish championships, before finishing third a year later.
