Seyit Kırmızı began cycling in 1967, riding in his first edition of the Tour of Turkey the following year. Kırmızı was a mainstay at his home race for the best part of a decade, winning the overall classification in 1974, in addition to becoming a multiple-time national champion. In 1971 he won bronze in the team pursuit at the Mediterranean Games before competing in the team time trial at the München Olympics the following year. Kırmızı quit the sport in 1977 after suffering the harsh conditions of riding in a snowstorm during a stage in the Alps at the Tour of Switzerland. After his cycling career he worked as a coach before running his own farm.
