Biography

Cyclist Hermann Martens finished the 5000 m, 20 km and the 100 km track races at the 1908 London Olympic Games with unknown results. He was also eliminated in the sprint heats. Together with Richard Katzer, Max Götze and Karl Neumer he claimed the silver medal in the team pursuit. Martens was German champion over 25 km in 1905 and 1906. In all, he won five national championships. Martens was affiliated with BBC Germania Berlin.
