Walter Löber was a German competitive cyclist who was active during the 1930s. As an amateur Löber won the Berlin–Cottbus–Berlin one-day race in 1933. Three years later he was selected to compete in the road race at the Berlin Olympics, but he did not start the event. In 1937 he turned professional, winning the Berlin–Leipzig one-day race that same year. His best result came in 1939 with his victory in the road race at the German cycling championships. Löber attempted a brief comeback to the sport after the war, but had retired by 1946.
His last days ended in tragic and mysterious circumstances. Löber was last seen alive on 4 April 1960, before his body was discovered in the municipality of Ehlbeck on 1 September the same year.
