Biography

Aleksandar Zorić was Serbian, although he rode for Yugoslavia at the 1948 Olympic Games. In 1948, Zorić won the five-stage Peace Race and he also won the Tour of Yugoslavia that year. His father was killed fighting in support of Tito, and Zorić himself lost an eye in 1945 during the bombing of Belgrad. He had only a brief career before returning to farming in his native region, but he later emigrated to the United States.
