Biography

Jeremy Barham attended Cranbrook College where he was head boy and captain of the hockey first XI. Upon going to Gonville & Caius College at Cambridge University, he became a hockey Blue in 1962 and 1963. An inside-forward or wing-half, Barham played for England Schoolboys and in 1965 made his full England début against the Netherlands at Chelmsford. He was an England regular from 1966 after going on the tour if Hamburg.

A Kent County player, Barham played most of his club hockey with Dulwich between 1962-74. He later became chief coach to Marden Russets Hockey Club, Kent, and played for the Russet Veterans beyond the age of 50. The highlight of his career was being a member of the Great Britain team that finished 12th (out of 16) at the 1968 Mexico Olympics.
