Biography

Friedrich Josten played at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic hockey (field) tournament with West Germany, losing the bronze medal match against India, 2-1. East and West Germany played their only international match in a preliminary round, with West Germany winning 3-2. He was capped 36 times between 1968 and 1971, and won the 1970 European Championships. Domestically Josten played with HTC Uhlenhorst Mülheim, and helped them win the 1964 West German national title.
