Biography

Gusztáv Lifka started playing hockey in 1929 at the Amateur HC. He was usually named Lifka I. as his younger brother also played in the team. He won the championship in 1933 and 1934 with his affiliation. In 1930 he was awarded the AHC Gold Badge for his sports performance.

Between 1936 and 1942, he played 11 times for the Hungarian national team as a left-back defender. Under the name of Lifkai he took part in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, where he played in all four matches. In 1942 he fought on the Russian front, where he died on May 12, 1943.
