Muniswamy Rajagopal first represented Karnataka in regional hockey in 1945 and was on the regional team for 15 years. In 1947 he was named to the Indian National team and played for them at the 1952 Olympics. He played left outside forward, and was nicknamed “The Artful Dodger.” He later became a hockey coach and coached the Indian junior team for several years.
