Biography

During the 1960s Italian field hockey player Sergio Ballesio represented Convitto Nazionale. Ballesio was selected to represent the Italian national team at their home Olympics in Roma in 1960. He played in the matches against Japan, Kenya, and Switzerland, scoring a goal against the Swiss team, with the game finishing 1–1. For Convitto Nazionale Ballesio won the medal for sporting merit in 1964 with the bronze medal for athletic merit the following year.
