Polish field hockey player Kazimierz Dąbrowski joined Stella Gniezno when he was 10-years-old, remaining at the club for the rest of his sporting career. Dąbrowski played in defense for the side, which saw him become a seven-time national champion (1956–59, 1961–62, 1964). From 1958 to 1961 he also represented the national field hockey team, playing at the 1960 Roma Olympics. Following his playing career Dąbrowski became a coach and was active with various field hockey associations in Poland. In 1980 he was decorated with the Knight’s Cross of OOP.
