Biography

Nick Butcher grew up playing soccer (football) and hockey (field) in high school, playing hockey with the Ventura County Club. He turned down college scholarship offers in soccer to join the US National Field Hockey Team. He was named to the USA junior team in 1992, and in 1995 advanced to the US National Team. Butcher played at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 1995 Pan American Games. He won four medals, including two golds, at US Olympic Festivals.
