Biography

Ebba Gripenstedt was a Swedish fencer who represented Stockholms Kv and FFF. From 1927 to 1946, Gripenstedt won 10 individual foil titles for the two clubs. At the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics Gripenstedt finished in fifth place in her pool with two wins and four defeats. Four years later at the 1936 Berlin Olympics she also won two bouts and lost four in her pool. Gripenstedt’s father Carl Gripenstedt was a noted baron and politician and her brother Carl Gripenstedt was also an accomplished fencer.
