Biography

Evelyn Terhune fenced for Salle Santelli. She attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, graduating in 1954, and coached at the school as head fencing coach from 1958-74, helping them win three National Intercollegiate Women’s Fencing Association championships in 1960, 1963, and 1969. Terhune worked for many years as director of development at Fairleigh Dickinson. She made the 1960 Olympic team by placing second at the 1960 Amateur Fencers League of America (AFLA) meet. She is a member of the Fairleigh Dickinson Athletic Hall of Fame.
