Biography
The fencer Axel Birnbaum, son of Udo Birnbaum, was Austrian champion in individual épée (1991) and team épée (1990). He participated in the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics. Birnbaum was eliminated in the pool stage of the third round placing 48th eventually.
