Biography

Fernand Jourdant was runner-up at the 1927 unofficial World Championship in individual épée and in 1931 in team épée. He learned his fencing from his father, who was a soldier and good fencer. Jourdant’s biggest win was likely at the 1932 pre-Olympic competition in Nice. In Toulouse a road was named in his honor on the Ile de Grand Ramier, where the city’s major sports complex sits.
