During the late 1940s and early 1950s French fencer Jean Parent competed in the sabre at international competitions. In 1948 Parent was part of the French sabre team that reached the semi-finals of the event at the London Olympics. After the Olympics he won silver in the sabre team event at the World Championships in both 1949 and 1950.
