Biography
West German sabre fencer Stephan Thönnessen placed sixth with the team at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. Individually, he finished 23rd. He twice entered the podium at the national championships in 1986 (second) and 1987 (third). By profession, he became a book seller with his own shop in Dormagen.
