Biography

As both a player and a coach Stefan Majer represented the Legia Warszawa basketball team throughout his career. Majer played for the club from 1951 to 1959, winning the Polish league in 1956 and 1957, and finishing as a runner-up on three occasions. Following his playing career he then became the coach of the team, leading them to the Polish championship title in 1969 and winning the Polish Cup in 1968 and 1970. His success with the team earned him a chance to coach the Polish national team at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. Majer was inducted into the Legia Warszawa Hall of Fame in 2012.
