Biography

Edward Żmudziejewski was a Polish freestyle wrestler who competed in the heavyweight class. Żmudziejewski finished as the runner-up at the national championships in 1973 before winning gold the following year. He won another gold in 1976, along with another silver in 1980, and bronze in 1977 and 1979. His best international result came at the 1974 European Championships in Madrid when he won bronze. In 1975 Żmudziejewski finished fourth at the European Championships to earn himself a place on the Olympic team for the 1976 Montréal Games. Although he travelled to Canada for the Games, he did not start in the heavyweight competition.
