Biography

Walter Kollmann was a defender who played for Austria at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, when the team lost its quarter-final 3-1 to defending champions Sweden, but also twice at the FIFA World Cup, in 1954 and 1958. In 1954, the Austrian team finished third beating Uruguay in the third-place match 3-1.

He was on the Austrian national team from 1952-58, earning 16 caps. Kollmann played almost his entire career with SC Wacker Wien from 1951-60, although his final year was spent with Wiener Sportklub in 1960/61.
